The first seminar of EU development programme for improving the manufacturing process in textile and leather Industry holds in Sofia

From 21 to May 23, 2008 in Best Western City Hotel in Sofia was held a seminar on specialized europeen program SEETAL in connection with the development and organization of business and working conditions in the textile and leather industry. It was attended by members of associations of Turkey, Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria and speakers of European organizations.

The topics of the seminar:

- Prevention and control of environmental pollution from the production process (Regulation REACH)

- The management of waste recycling


In each of the topics took part speakers from France, Spain, Italy, Germany which are representatives of associations and individual projects - COTANCE, EURATEX, STFI. Made discussions held on the new provisions and working conditions under REACH, concerning origins and types of chemicals used in the production process. Short deadlines for registration and Asian competition are only part of the objections raised by very east-European trade associations to the EU representatives.

Interest to participants in the seminar were the methods for recycling of textile waste. New ideas for work and last edition machinery was shown by Mr. B. Gulich, a representative of Saxon technological research Institute ( STFI ) in Germany.


The whole organization of the seminar was made from members of Bulgarian branch union of Leather industry in Bulgaria.

The next seminar on SEETAL program will be held from 19-20 June 2008 in Istanbul and will consider issues of intellectual property, laws and rules of international competition and business ethics.
